Frequently asked — SLAs, Tiers & Delivery
How is pricing structured across services and outlets?
Pricing is determined by three axes: the **service type** (banner, sponsored investigation, native, etc.), the **pricing mode** (one-off, monthly, annual) and the **outlet tier** (Tier 1 — flagship; Tier 2 — regional/specialist; Tier 3 — local/micro). Each SKU in our catalog maps to those three values. For accurate, per-outlet pricing and traffic numbers request a Pricing Pack (we’ll send a SKU matrix tailored to selected outlets).

What is the difference between One-off, Monthly and Annual pricing?
One-off applies to single-delivery campaigns (e.g., a single sponsored investigation or a single banner flight). Monthly is for recurring month-by-month buys (commonly used for ongoing native, programmatic or newsletter sponsorships). Annual pricing is discounted for long-term commitments and often includes priority inventory, reporting and additional SLA guarantees.

How do you assign an outlet to Tier 1/2/3?
Tiering is based on audience scale, editorial reach, brand stature and typical CPMs. Flagship national titles and high-reach verticals are Tier 1. Regional/state-level or strong niche outlets are Tier 2. Local or micro-verticals are Tier 3. Request a Pricing Pack for exact per-outlet tier mapping and traffic figures.

What are exclusivity windows and how do they affect price?
Exclusivity means we will not run competing categories/brands for the agreed window on the chosen placements. Typical windows include 1 month (+20%), 3 months (+50%) and 12 months (+120%) but exact pricing depends on outlet and inventory. Exclusivity requests must be confirmed at booking and are subject to availability.

Can I cancel a booked campaign? What are cancellation fees?
Cancellation policy depends on the product and lead time: campaigns cancelled more than 14 days before launch are typically eligible for a partial refund (minus production/operation costs). Cancellations inside 14 days may incur fees up to 50–100% of the booked amount for time-sensitive placements (e.g., roadblocks, sponsored investigations). Enterprise contracts may have bespoke terms — we include cancellation terms in the Pricing Pack and contract.

How are invoices, billing cycles and taxes handled?
We issue invoices in USD (or local currency where agreed) upon booking or per billing cycle for recurring buys. Taxes (GST/VAT) are added to invoices as required by law. For annual contracts we can support monthly invoicing by agreement. Payment methods: bank transfer, card (Stripe), or negotiated enterprise payment terms. Contact Sales for PO-based billing.

        What is your refund policy?
Refunds are issued only for demonstrable non-delivery or proven invalid traffic (fraud). For viewability or performance shortfalls we offer pro-rata credits or make-goods subject to verification by our forensic audit. Requesting a refund triggers an audit and reconciliation period.

What are SKUs and how can I get a SKU matrix for all outlets?
A SKU is our internal identifier for a specific product (service × outlet × mode × tier). Use “Request Pricing Pack” to receive a downloadable SKU CSV with pricing, tiers, and traffic data for selected outlets. We also offer a filtered CSV export after a short lead capture so we can send tailored terms.

What creative assets do you require for each ad type?
            Creative requirements vary by format:

We provide a full creative spec in the Pricing Pack. Allow 48–72 hours for creative QC on standard placements; longer for documentary video or co-produced investigations.

What are the delivery timelines for each service?
Delivery depends on the service and creative readiness. Typical lead times:

How do you measure campaign performance and reporting cadence?
We provide impression, click, and engagement reporting. For advanced buys we provide raw logs and event-level data via our premium API. Reporting cadence: weekly for active campaigns, and a final post-campaign dossier with audience breakdown and ROI modelling. Custom KPIs (leads, conversions) can be tracked via UTM/pixel integrations.

How do you handle viewability and invalid traffic?
We aim for a 60–70% viewability target on premium placements and provide pro-rata credits if viewability falls below SLA thresholds on verified inventory. We use third-party verification and forensic audits for invalid traffic; refunds or credits are issued after verification.

Can we request legal pre-clearance for sponsored investigations?
Yes — for paid sponsored investigations we offer pre-publish legal clearance at an additional cost or as part of enterprise packages. Indemnity terms and legal review timelines are included in the Pricing Pack and contract negotiations.

What editorial safeguards are in place to preserve independence?
We differentiate editorial independence from commercial partnerships. Sponsored investigations include transparent sponsor disclosure and editorial oversight; the newsroom retains final editorial control in line with agreed disclosure practices. Detailed editorial scopes and disclosure language are included in campaign contracts.

Do you provide raw logs or API access for programmatic / enterprise buys?
Yes — enterprise programmatic and premium inventory packages can include raw impression logs and a premium API for event-level data ingestion. This is typically a premium add-on and requires contractual agreement.

How does programmatic premium inventory work vs. direct buys?
Programmatic premium inventory uses PMP/private deals with guaranteed impressions and targeting, combining RTB flexibility with reserved quality inventory. Direct buys are fixed placements (e.g., homepage banners, sponsored investigations) with guaranteed placements and fewer intermediaries. We advise hybrid strategies depending on campaign goals.

        What targeting options are available?
Targeting options include geo (country, state, city), interest/behavior segments for social, newsletter segmenting, device and dayparting, and audience lists where available. Programmatic buys allow granular audience segments and third-party data where compliant with privacy rules.

Are there frequency caps or audience overlap guarantees?
Frequency caps can be applied to most buys. For cross-outlet campaigns we offer audience overlap minimization strategies and reporting to reduce duplication. Overlap guarantees are available as an enterprise add-on with additional targeting and data integrations.

What technical tags and tracking are supported?
We support standard impression tags, JS tags, tracking pixels, and server-to-server event tracking. For sponsored content we also support UTM parameters, custom landing pages, and measurement pixels. Creative QA and tag testing are included with standard lead times.

How do I get an editable contract or SOW for an enterprise buy?
After you request a Pricing Pack or Book a Call, our sales ops team will prepare a Statement of Work (SOW) or contract draft. For enterprise clients we support PO-based procurement, custom SLAs, and negotiated payment schedules.

What are file format and creative QA requirements?
Provide creatives in the formats specified per product: PNG/JPG/WebP for images, MP4 for video, HTML5 for rich media. File naming, click-through tags, and tracking specs must match our creative checklist (sent with the Pricing Pack). We perform technical QA; failed QA may delay launch until fixes are provided.

How do you handle data privacy (GDPR/CCPA/other)?
We comply with applicable data protection laws. For targeted or data-driven campaigns, we ensure partners’ compliance and provide data processing addenda where required. Advertisers must ensure their creatives, landing pages and tracking satisfy local regulations.

Who owns creative and usage rights after campaign delivery?
Ownership and licensing terms are specified in the contract. Typically, the advertiser owns brand creative they provide; Investigative Network retains rights to editorial materials. Usage rights for produced videos or co-created formats are negotiable (e.g., usage window, geographies, paid reuse).

What happens if a campaign underperforms?
We conduct a performance review and offer remediation steps — optimization, creative swaps, or pro-rata credits where appropriate. For guaranteed delivery shortfalls we offer make-goods or credits based on the verified shortfall and contractual SLAs.

Can I get audience demographic breakdowns and sample traffic?
Yes — submit a Request Pricing Pack and we will include per-outlet traffic, age/gender splits, and sample audience data in the Pricing Pack. For enterprise clients we can provide deeper analytics and raw logs (subject to contract).

How do I request custom measurement or third-party tags?
Include tag requirements in the Pricing Pack request or during the Book A Call. We support most third-party verification and measurement vendors; integration depends on the vendor’s technical requirements and lead time.

What if I need a white-label or reseller arrangement?
We offer partner/reseller arrangements for agencies and platforms. Terms, reporting access and revenue share options are negotiated case-by-case — start with “Contact Sales” to discuss partnership terms.

How do contractual SLAs work for delivery and reporting?
SLAs are included in enterprise contracts and define viewability targets, reporting cadence, delivery timelines and remediation (credits/make-goods). Standard SLAs are included for premium placements; bespoke SLAs can be negotiated for high-value buys.

How long will it take to receive a tailored Pricing Pack?
After submitting the Request Pricing Pack form we typically deliver a tailored SKU matrix within 24–72 hours for standard requests. More complex or enterprise requests (multiple outlets, programmatic deals, legal vetting) may take longer — we’ll confirm timelines when we receive your request.

Who do I contact for urgent issues or escalations?
Use “Contact Sales” or “Book A Call” for urgent commercial inquiries. For live campaign issues, include campaign ID and contact details in the lead form and the Ops team will prioritize. Enterprise customers receive dedicated account management and escalation SLAs as agreed in the contract.

Is there anything else I should know before booking?
Confirm creative readiness and approval timelines before booking for time-sensitive placements. If you require legal pre-clearance, budget extra time. For complex buys (e.g., cross-country programmatic or sponsored investigations) involve your legal and analytics teams early — we’ll include recommended timelines in the Pricing Pack.
